Loftia: farming and decorating on floating islands, with other people
A social life sim set in a solar-punk world above the clouds. It is in early access, so a few things are still moving. Here is what that means before you buy.
What you actually do in it
Loftia is a shared sandbox rather than a story you play through once. You build a character, settle into a floating town and pick up activities — growing food, turning materials into furniture, decorating a home, meeting whoever else is online.
- Farming. Community plots and hydroponic stations, with short cooperative harvest activities.
- Crafting and carpentry. Gathering planks, fabric, metal plate and recycled materials, then crafting furniture through timing-based mini-games.
- Building and decorating. Placing decor, recolouring items, and themed decoration challenges.
- Customisation. Extensive outfits, adjustable accessories, prosthetic options, pets with emotes.
- Social spaces. Shared hubs, campfires, and timed obstacle-course runs with other players.
Early access — read this part
Loftia entered early access in November 2026 on Steam and the Epic Games Store, for Windows and Mac. The game is on sale while it is still being built: content gets added, balance changes, and things break temporarily.
What early access does not guarantee: a final content list, a fixed roadmap, or that a planned platform will ship on time. Nintendo Switch has been announced as a later platform, not a launch one. Treat that as an announcement, not a promise with a date.
Who it is for
- You like decorating more than combat
- You want to play with friends or strangers
- You are fine buying an unfinished game and reporting bugs
- You play in short sessions and do not need a plot to finish
- You want a finished, polished, fully voiced experience
- You prefer single-player and dislike seeing other players
- You need deep combat or difficulty
- You dislike updates that change systems you learned

REANIMAL: two children, one hostile island, and something that knows you are there
A cinematic horror adventure from Tarsier Studios, the team behind Little Nightmares. Played alone or in co-op.
Age suitability first. REANIMAL carries an ESRB Mature 17+ rating with descriptors for blood and gore, violence and partial nudity. In Europe it is rated PEGI 18. It deals with disappearance, mutilation and body horror. It is not appropriate for younger children.
The premise, without spoilers
A brother and sister are searching for friends who have gone missing. Their search leads them to an island that is actively wrong — flooded industrial works, derelict trains, corridors that smell of something dead. Two small figures against an environment built to swallow them.
Structurally it is a puzzle-adventure. You explore, solve environmental puzzles by cooperating, and hide or run when something notices you. Combat is not the verb here; evasion and timing are.
Co-op is the reason to care
This is the game's actual selling point. It supports single-player, couch co-op and online co-op with cross-play, and it includes a friend's pass that lets a second player join without owning the game.
Practical note for buying: before picking a platform, check that platform's store page for whether the friend's pass is included there. Cross-play and guest access are the sort of details that vary by platform and region, and the official listing is the only reliable source.
Who it suits
- You played Little Nightmares and want more of that tone
- You want horror built around playing with someone else
- You prefer dread and puzzling to shooting
- You are fine with body horror and a bleak ending
- You are buying for a child or a family console
- You want action combat or a power fantasy
- You scare easily and play before bed
- You only play solo and want a long campaign of systems

RoadCraft: rebuild what the storm broke, one road at a time
A slow, methodical vehicle sim about restoring roads, bridges and towns after disasters. The Foundations Expansion pushes it further into ground-up construction.
The loop, in plain terms
RoadCraft drops you into terrain that has been wrecked — washed-out roads, collapsed structures, ports full of debris, a community cut off from supplies. You do not fight anything. You drive equipment and fix things.
- Clear. Drag scrap and debris out of the way with a magnetic crane so supply routes reopen.
- Demolish. Take down condemned buildings with a wrecking ball crane before anything new goes up.
- Build the base. Drive piles into the ground, then pour, shape and pump concrete for foundations.
- Pave. Lay asphalt and smooth it with a roller until the surface is drivable.
- Haul. Move machines over rough ground with a heavy hauler and keep the fleet fuelled with service vehicles.
It is a logistics game wearing a truck sim's clothes. The satisfaction is in a route that now works because you made it work.
What the Foundations Expansion adds
- PL30C Pile Driver (Alces) — drives structural piles so buildings have something to stand on.
- MX Concrete Mixer and MK11 Concrete Pumper (Voltrack) — mix and place concrete at volume.
- R1 Asphalt Roller (Aramatsu) — smoothing and compacting finished surfaces.
- MAG240 Magnetic Crane (EPEC) — clearing metal scrap at scale.
- 4520 HH Heavy Hauler (Derry Longhorn) — moving heavy equipment between sites.
- M1 Service Vehicle (Isonzo) — keeping the fleet running in the field.
Buyer's check: expansions for this game are sold separately from the base game, and "expansion" does not automatically mean it is included in every edition. Check which edition you are buying on your platform's store page before paying.
Family suitability
RoadCraft carries a PEGI 3 rating, the lowest age band PEGI issues. There is no combat, no blood and no frightening content. For households that want a game a child can watch or drive in safely, this is a rare fit in the simulation genre. The trade-off is patience — most tasks are slow and precise.
Who it suits
- You like simulators and heavy equipment with no timer pressure
- You enjoy planning a route and watching it work
- You want something calm and non-violent on a shared TV
- You play in long, unhurried sessions
- You want speed, combat or a story campaign
- You dislike slow vehicle handling and precision driving
- You need constant novelty rather than steady tasks
- You are on a low-spec laptop — check the specs first

How these notes are put together
The same four steps for every game, so nothing here is a surprise.
We start with the official listing
Genre, platforms, age rating and developer credits come from the publisher's own store page or press kit — not from aggregator sites that copy each other.
We say who it is not for
Every note includes limits: hardware needs, age suitability, session length, whether the game is finished or in early access. That part is usually the most useful.
Quotes are credited, not invented
If we mention a review score, we name the outlet and say where the quote comes from. We never write our own score and present it as a critic's.
We send you to the official store
Buy buttons point at Steam, the Epic Games Store, the publisher or the platform store. We do not sell keys, accounts or downloads ourselves.
One thing we do not do: we do not claim to have played a game we have only researched. Where a detail comes from the publisher's material rather than hands-on play, the page says so.
Common questions
Are these reviews?
No. They are buying notes — genre, platforms, requirements, age rating, and who a game suits. We describe what a game is, not how many points it deserves.
Do you get paid to cover a game?
No. We may earn a commission if you buy through a partner link, but that never determines whether a game gets covered or what we say about its limits. See the disclosure below.
Are prices shown?
No. Prices and discounts change daily, so we point you to the official store page where the current price is always accurate.
Is this site connected to any of the developers?
No. NextSave is an independent publication and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any studio or publisher named on this page.
One of these games is 18+ — what about the others?
They are not. Loftia is a cozy social sim and RoadCraft is rated PEGI 3. REANIMAL is rated Mature 17+ and PEGI 18 for blood and gore, violence and partial nudity, and is clearly marked as such wherever it appears.
